Hello Kristy, I am a very recent new member and have only just finnished looking at all the profiles and noticed that on yours that you mentioned that you liked gem collecting. I used to and still some what do have the same interest and at one stage lived in your area. I thought I would share a couple of sites that I came across not far from you, you may already know of them but I tell you in case you do not. If you go to google maps terrain and have a look at the road from Gulnare to Spalding were the resevour is there is a hill just befor Pages Hill road, on the top of that hill or just befor on the right hand side as you are driving to Spalding there is a spot where people have dug around. At this spot can be found small red and green garnets if I remember rightly. The other spot is the main quarry in the hills over looking Port Pirie, the granite type rock at that quarry can sometimes yield a very nice deep red gem imbedded in the rock. I never did identify the gem but the one I saw was 2 cm square and very beutiful. All the best Dave { Klasslancer }. PS Loved the artwork.
